Getty Kids Hymnal II

For The Cause

Just Released! For the Cause is the second release in the Getty Kids Hymnal album series, a collection of recordings designed to help disciple children with songs to carry for life.  Inspired by many world music sounds, this album was recorded by the Getty band and five different children’s choirs from Africa, America, Colombia, India, and Ireland.

“It always makes me so happy whenever an artist writes for the most important, wonderful and discerning audience of all. The Getty’s, our modern day hymn writers, have have turned their great gift to write an album of songs filled with robust theology, great music, anthems—all in the service of giving children hymns of their own. Wonderful, feet-stomping truth to sing! (I have a feeling, as with most great writing for children’, the adults will want to sing along too.)”

The latest album and tour

Facing a Task Unfinished is the latest album from pre-eminent modern hymn writers, Keith and Kristyn Getty. The album, which champions congregational singing and mission, follows the radical example of the hymn “Facing a Task Unfinished,” rewritten from its original 1931 version, where its urgent call propelled individuals, families and churches to global witness.

This studio album features the Getty’s band, live congregational singing, and fresh global sounds as well as guest appearances by Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Fernando Ortega, John Patitucci, Chris Tomlin and artists from around the world.
